To St. Benedict

inglés

Dear Saint, who left this world behind,
Look down upon they ranks,
That He in whom real joy they find,
May deign to hear their thanks.

Into thy fold lead young and old,
Thy wisdom be their guide,
That they may e’er thy precepts hold
And conquer human pride.

Spread charity both far and wide,
Thus turning night in day,
And love of God let be their guide;
Their motto: Work and pray.

St. Benedict, God’s faithful friend,
Lend us they helping hand;
That when our life is at an end
We may near Jesus stand.
Ivan Kramoris.
